Elm house day nursery

My son has a rare genetic disease so he has a severe developmental delay. Yet the staff is very helpful in teaching my son with different skills, and they are proactively approaching us to discuss the short term play plan as well as long term development plan. They are also helpful in providing neutral comments to my son’s EHCP application. I highly recommend this nursery as they are really adaptive and passionate for every child they take care of.

I was really nervous about moving my little boy from his original setting as we moved to the area but then we visited Elm House. Instantly put at ease and everything was explained fully for us. Our little boy is currently awaiting assessment for ASD and the nursery has been amazing. From meeting with us and his old setting prior to him starting, to helping us ensure referrals had been made to the correct places, nothing has been too much trouble. Honestly I couldn’t feel more at ease if I tried, even getting support with the next steps which will be my little one’s transition to primary school. Cannot thank the Manager and little one’s key workers and SEN enough. You truly are amazing and we are so grateful!

The staff and manager/owner have been so supportive of my two grandchildren, one of whom has special needs. They have worked on an individual basis and delivered child-centred programmes to help my grandson improve his speech, eye contact, motor skills and education. They have been patient, kind and caring. I can’t praise them enough. They have also supported my daughter in her trying to meet milestones. This is an excellent nurturing educational environment where children are treated as individuals and supported to fulfil their potential. I wish all nurseries were as good as Elm House Gateacre. I couldn’t believe how effective the settling in sessions were in helping Sophia make the transition to Nursery. Sophia particularly loves the garden areas which are thoughtfully planned to encourage children’s imagination. Thank you to Lynsey and all the staff.
